  • Registered Office address - For forming a Company in the UK the addresses can be different but that address must be the official address of the company, it should be placed on public record, it should be situated in the country (England, Wales, Scotland & North Ireland) during incorporation, from HMRC or companies house statutory government mail should be there, it can be a residential or Non-UK residential address. 
  • Service address - It is required by the company’s directors and secretary’s, this address will help every individual to receive their statutory mail, it can be located anywhere in the world, it should be placed on public record.
  • Residential address - It is mainly used for directors and secretaries and it is not compulsory to keep on public record.
  • Single alternative inspection location i.e SAIL Address is basically the alternative to the registered office location. It is the same for forming a business in the UK. Its information is placed on public records.
  • Business address - It is an optional address, it can be given to clients, suppliers, vendors, and can be located anywhere in the world.

Service Address 

  • Required by company directors and secretaries

  • Can be located anywhere in the world.
  • The address is placed on a public record.
  • It can be residential or non-residential.

Usual Residential Address 

  • Must be provided by directors, company secretaries and the PSCs.
  • The address is not placed on a public record unless it is also used as a registered office, service address or SAIL.

SAIL Address

  • SAIL Address is a Single Alternative Inspection Location
  • It was used as an alternative to the registered office for storing statutory registers and making them available for inspection.
  • Must be the same in the UK company as the registered office
  • It is optional
  • The address is placed on a public record.

Business Address

  • Business Address is optional
  • They can use one or more business addresses as a contact address for clients, suppliers and lenders.
  • Can be located anywhere in the world.
  • Not placed on public record

The minimum age of a company director must be at least 16 years old.

2) Select a company formation package

3) Add company address service

All limited companies must provide details of the registered office. The service address must be supplied by each director, subscriber and person with significant control.

4) Complete the Online Application Form

The online application form is very easy to use and complete, requiring a few minutes of the time. We provide the following information:

5) Submit your online applications to Companies House

They will check your company formation application before sending it to the Companies House.

Companies House operates in three separate jurisdictions throughout the UK - 1) England and Wales (one jurisdiction) 2) Scotland and 3) North Irelands.

Therefore companies must be registered in one of these jurisdictions. Decisions will determine the location of the registered office address. They are permitted to be incorporated in one jurisdiction.

However, they can base their operations anywhere and can also trade throughout the whole of the UK and overseas.
